In 1993, Chengdu Cable Factory was the first batch H-share listed in Hong Kong. There is also a listing of Chengdu-Chongqing Expressway in Hong Kong in 1997. Hong Kong has become the largest source of foreign direct investment in Chengdu. Fifteen companies in Chengdu are listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Cooperation week of Sichuan, Hong Kong and Macao was held in Hong Kong August 2017, Chengdu Government signed the Memorandum of Economic and Trade Cooperation with Hong Kong Trade Development Council and signed a cooperation agreement with financial institutions such as the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. At the Special Session on Promoting Chengdu to become a national financial center in western China, Chengdu and Hong Kong established new cooperation mechanism in financial fields, accelerated the development of both Chengdu and Hong Kong’s financial markets, sharing the new opportunities under the Belt and Road initiative together. This seminar opened a new chapter in the cooperation between Chengdu and Hong Kong.
