Charltons to Participate in 2015 Hike for Hong Kong
The date for this year’s Hike for Hong Kong has been announced. This year, Hike For Hong Kong will take place on Saturday 24 October in Sai Kung Country Park along a beautiful 7.6km trail from Sai Kung Country Park’s Pak Tam Chung gate.
Hike For Hong Kong is a social responsibility initiative of the Listing Committee of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong (Listing Committee) and is open to members of the Listing Committee, their colleagues, friends and families, the staff of the Listing Department and other staff of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Ltd, the Securities and Futures Commission (Corporate Finance), their friends and families and other invitees of the Stock Exchange.
Hike For Hong Kong aims to raise funds for HandsOn Hong Kong a local community focused charity. Money raised from this event will specifically benefit “Skills Workshops for People with Disabilities”, one of HandsOn Hong Kong’s programs addressing pressing social needs in Hong Kong. Many young people with disabilities struggle to secure employment after leaving school and have limited opportunities to integrate into mainstream society. This program helps to teach them skills that can lead to viable employment opportunities.
Last year’s Hike for Hong Kong raised over HK$450,000 for HandsOn Hong Kong’s “Tech for the Elderly” programme, which aimed at reducing isolation among the elderly through technology training and by bringing different generations together through volunteerism.
